A Song of Ice and Fire: The Pale Wolf-Dragon
Before Aegon’s Conquest, before the Iron Throne was forged in fire, and before the Targaryens became the sole Dragonlords of Westeros, a silent union joined the raw sorcery of Old Valyria with the relentless strength of the North. From this alliance, Arthos Vaelarys was born: an immortal being, a master of blood and fire sorcery, and a wielder of the First Men’s Green Sight. For over a century, Arthos remained in seclusion in the Valley of Blessings, ruling from his Tower of Black Stone. To the North and the rangers of the Wall, he was the legendary Pale Wolf—a living myth, feared and respected, with whom no one dared to interfere. However, in the year 58 AC, the visit of Queen Alysanne and King Jaehaerys I to the North changed the kingdom's destiny. Attempting to annex Arthos’s lands for the Night’s Watch, the royal couple encountered not an ordinary lord, but an arcane force that mocked the Crown’s authority and flatly refused to bend the knee. Driven by forgotten arcane secrets and the call of his blood, Arthos decided to leave his isolation and travel South. Upon entering the court of the Red Keep as Arcane Advisor, the Mage looked on with disdain at the loss of Valyrian traditions and the moral ruin of the House of the Dragon. Amidst seductions, conspiracies from the Citadel, and brutal clashes with the Old King, Arthos would use his magic and immortality to rewrite the fate of Westeros and protect the true legacy of the dragons before the flames of ambition destroyed everything.
